2019 Was Banner Year for Leading Healthcare PR Agency with Record Revenue, Client and Employee Retention
Newton, MA, January 15, 2020 – Aria Marketing, a leading healthcare public relations and marketing communications agency, recognized 2019 as a pivotal year in which the company increased revenue by nearly 20% and added three leading healthcare technology companies to its client roster. In conjunction with these achievements, Aria also announced an employee retention rate of 93%.
2019 was a year of notable client growth, with longstanding clients expanding their PR programs and three new companies partnering with the agency. One of these new clients is AVIA, the leading partner for digital health insights, strategic guidance, and consulting services, which named Aria its agency of record in an effort to promote its thought leadership and bring national attention to initiatives such as the Medicaid Transformation Project. “The digital health field is booming, which means there is a lot of competition for visibility,” said Kate Soden, senior director of marketing communications of AVIA. “Aria has already proved it has the industry prowess and can-do attitude our organization needs in a PR partner. I’m excited to continue our partnership in 2020 to bring even more awareness to the important work AVIA and its members are doing.”
Aria prioritizes client service and retention, and as a result, nearly 80% of Aria’s clients have worked with the agency for multiple years. ActiveRADAR, a company that specializes in pharmacy cost reduction programs for employers, trust funds and health plans, has worked with Aria for three years and plans to continuing leveraging Aria’s expertise in 2020. “I view Aria as an extension of my company’s team,” said David Henka, CEO and president of ActiveRADAR. “I know I can rely on them to bolster our strategic public relations program the same way I rely on my clinical and technology teams.”
In 2019, Aria leveraged relationships to secure strategic coverage for its clients in prominent national and regional outlets such as Forbes, Reader’s Digest, The Boston Globe and WCVB, as well as top healthcare trade publications including Becker’s Hospital Review, Modern Healthcare, HealthLeaders, FierceHealthcare and Healthcare IT Today. The agency helped clients win significant industry awards such as Life Image’s and Kryuus’ BostInno on Fire recognitions and Emeritus CEO of CynergisTek Mac McMillan’s CHIME Foundation Industry Leader accolade. Additionally, Aria secured prestigious speaking opportunities for its clients, including engagements at HLTH, ASCO, and HIMSS19.
Aria Retains and Promotes Employees, Prioritizes “Well” Work Environment
To support the company’s growing portfolio, Aria retained a record 93% of its employees and made an additional hire: Account Coordinator Devyn Andrews, who recently received her master’s degree in public health from Tufts School of Medicine. Aria also promoted four employees in 2019: Danielle Johns to account director; Lindsey Honig to senior account executive; and Kahler Buckley and Julia Dakhlia to account executives. Additionally, Senior Account Executive Ashley Owen became Aria’s first wellness officer. Owen leads the agency’s newly launched wellness initiative, focused on supporting employee mental, physical, financial and professional wellness.
Aria also received several accolades from the industry in 2019. Scott Collins, president of Aria Marketing, was named one of the Top Healthcare Leaders at the International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare and Aria was designated as a finalist in BostInno’s Coolest Places to Work Awards over the summer for its exceptional work environment and community initiatives. Jessica Cohen, Aria’s executive vice president, was also selected to speak at the 2019 HITMC conference.
“I’m incredibly proud of the communications powerhouse Aria has become,” said Collins. “It is fitting that our 20th anniversary year was our best year yet with record revenue, impressive client retention, and, perhaps the thing I am proudest of, truly noteworthy staff retention. I think all of this is a testament to the longstanding relationships we have built across the industry and the expertise we have developed over time, regarding both the nuances of the healthcare industry and how to attract and retain talent. I am truly grateful to our clients and staff alike and am looking forward to an even more fruitful, productive and fun 2020.”
