First HITMC Pop-up Event – Dec 10th NYC

We’re excited to announce our first HITMC pop-up event in New York City!

Over the years there has been one consistent request from the Healthcare and IT Marketing Community (HITMC) – hold more in-person events that bring the community together. It was with that in mind that we decided to try something new after the 2018 annual conference.

First, John Lynn and I committed to organizing more HITMC meetups at the 2018 fall conferences we were attending. So far we have organized meetups in Chicago, Seattle, Nashville and Boston (twice!). Each has been a roaring success.

Second, we decided we wanted to do something that would incorporate elements of the annual conference (learning + collaboration + peer advice) with the best parts of the meetups (fun + bonding with peers). We felt a pop-up event would be the perfect way to blend these elements together.

We are happy to announce that on December 10th we will be hosting our first “Taste-of-HITMC” pop-up event in New York City. This special ½ day event is designed to give attendees a little sampling of what happens at the annual conference in a smaller, more intimate setting.

We hope that for people new to HITMC, the event will inspire them to become more active in the community. For HITMC veterans, we wanted the event to help tide them over until the annual conference (Boston, April 17-19). For John and I, we wanted to use the event to connect with members of the community in a different way.

On December 10th, 20 of us will gather in downtown New York City for a unique collaborative learning lab. The topic will be – How to get 10x your healthcare conference investment. We chose this topic specifically because getting value from healthcare conferences, like HIMSS19, is challenging and with budgets tightening, it’s more important than ever for marketers to show value for these large investments.

Rather than lectures, the Taste-of-HITMC will feature a unique 7-ideas-in-7-minutes approach where an industry expert will present 7 ideas to the group in just 7 minutes. That will be followed by an interactive group discussion where all attendees will work together to translate those ideas into tactics and specific to-do’s. By the end of the event everyone will have a list of concrete next steps that they can take back to their companies to maximize their next conference.

Here is just a taste (pun intdended) of what attendees will learn:

  • What pre-conference awareness tactics work and which are a waste of time
  • How to attract more attendees to your booth
  • Why media stop to visit some booths and not at others
  • Which follow-up methods yield the most post-conference sales meetings
  • How to extend the generated buzz in the months after a conference

After the collaborative learning lab, we will all be heading out for a group dinner. That will be followed by an optional social event where we will have a share experience (like touring through Bryant Park or taking pictures at historic NYC landmarks).

This first Taste-of-HITMC would not be possible without the support of these 3 companies:

  • Colin,
The “Taste-of-HITMC” pop-up event in New York City looks great. The topic could not be more timely. Attending over 20 HIMSS Annual Conferences I have seen so many vendors attend very unprepared and they have spent a lot of dollars to get there. What attendees can you learn at this meeting is so valuable! See you all at HIMSS
