Going Virtual! What it Takes to Run Successful Virtual Events

These days, almost all business is being done virtually. I think I can speak for all of us when I say that as we started 2020, we never thought that we would be where we are now.

Large events have been cancelled, tradeshows have been postponed and marketers have had to completely restructure their events strategy.  According to Gartner research, 68% of CMOs have canceled or postponed customer-facing marketing events due to the current pandemic.

Many of us (including us) have pivoted and are trying to grow awareness and lead generation elsewhere. One of the biggest strategies that has gained popularity is virtual events.

We recently ran our very first HITMC Virtual event and realized that there are many factors to consider when running a successful virtual event.

This month at HITMC, we decided to feature articles about Virtual Events. So please join us June 9th at 12pm ET (for your local time click here) for our monthly #HITMC Tweet chat where we will be discussing: Going Virtual! What it Takes to Run Successful Virtual Events.  Below are the questions that we will be discussing next Tuesday:

T1 As an attendee, what is most important for a virtual event or webinar? Topic? Speakers? Timing? Technology?

T2 Does the technology for the webinar/virtual event matter? What features do you want to see?

T3 What steps do you take to build out engaging content for your virtual event or webinar?

T4 Share best practices for recruiting attendees to your webinars or virtual events. What has worked well?

T5 How do you encourage attendee engagement, participation and even networking during your virtual events?

Bonus: Do you think virtual events will ever replace in-person events?
