Welcome to the New Healthcare IT Marketing and PR Community Site (#HITMC)!

2.5 years ago when I first announced the Healthcare IT Marketing and PR Conference (Better known as HIMTC), I had no idea the success it would become. As we prepare for the 3rd Annual HITMC conference, I’m excited to see that the energy and enthusiasm for the event is even stronger today than it was after the first event.

While the conference is an amazing 3 days of education, networking, and fun, what’s shocked me even more than that is the community that was created around the conference. In fact, it was one of the most amazing insights that was discovered at the end of the inaugural HITMC conference. We didn’t just create a great event, but we were really bringing together a community of healthcare IT marketing and PR professionals. A community which had never really been brought together before.

Ironically, many of these health care IT marketing and PR professionals spent a lot of time working in the same room as each other (granted it was a massive exhibit hall “room”), but they’d rarely ever met or had a chance to commiserate on the challenges they each face. That’s what made the HITMC conference so special. Everyone came together in a real spirit of sharing and camaraderie. As one attendee said, “I finally found my tribe.”

As part of the move to be more than a conference, the community has come together around the #HITMC hashtag on Twitter and many have joined the Healthcare IT Marketing and PR Community LinkedIn group. These have both been great venues for those in the community to connect, collaborate, and share their experience and expertise.

Now we’re looking to take that community to the next level with the launch of HITMC.com. This site will be dedicated to amazing content and resources dedicated to the Healthcare IT Marketing and PR professional. If you’re looking for the latest updates and details for the HITMC conference, you’ll be able to find those at HealthITMarketingConference.com.

You can see that we already have a good base of content that we originally posted on the conference website. Along with regular, unique content, HITMC.com will also be home to the #HITMC Twitter chat and the soon to be announced HITMC Awards (see last year’s HITMC Awards winners). A big thank you to Jared Johnson, Founder of Ultera Digital, who has been helping me with content for HITMC and will no doubt be a big part of content on HITMC.com as well.

If you work doing marketing or PR at a healthcare IT company or hospital that would like to share content with the HITMC community, please reach out to us on our contact us page. We want to involve as many members of the community in the site as possible. If you’re a company that supports health care IT marketing and PR professionals, we have sponsorship packages available for you as well. Reach out to us on our contact us page for more details.

We’re excited for the next stage of our HITMC adventure. We look forward to doing everything we can to help support this amazing community. Thanks for each of you that make it such an amazing group.

P.S. As with any new site, we welcome any feedback on how we can make the site better. We’re still making improvements (For example, we want to make the link text a little darker so it’s easier to read), but if you have ideas, suggestions, etc on how we can improve HITMC.com, please let us know.
